Flagstaff Lodge & Day Spa is a 1912 villa providing boutique accommodation at Russell, a quiet seaside village in New Zealand’s pristine Bay of Islands. An original family homestead, built at the beginning of the twentieth century, the Lodge has been carefully renovated and restored so that, today, it is one of The Bay of Islands' most exclusive boutique lodges. Russell is a 3.5 hour drive from Auckland. You can also fly from Auckland to the Kerikeri or Whangarei airports from where Flagstaff Lodge offers guests a pickup and drop-off service if needed.
With a maximum of eight people staying at any one time, guests are assured personal attention and privacy. The entire lodge is also available for group bookings. The lodge offers four spacious ensuite rooms, each with their own unique theme, an elegant guest lounge, a courtyard, established gardens and a private spa; all designed to help you relax and enjoy yourselves in serenity, comfort and style. After a deep, relaxing sleep in superior beds you can enjoy a gourmet breakfast prepared to your taste. The evenings begin with complementary drinks with the kiwi hosts and the opportunity to sit back and taste NZ wines and a small sample of local cuisine.
Flagstaff Lodge is just one minute’s walk to Russell's cafes, restaurants, and water front. You can stroll through the local art gallery, shops and historic buildings – or enjoy a round of golf or a visit to an award winning winery. For those interested in water activities, Russell is the perfect destination to enjoy game fishing, diving and swimming with dolphins. The hosts, Beth and Darryl, offer friendly assistance with tour bookings and travel arrangements.
Flagstaff Lodge also has its own private spa offering specialty services to pamper you with massages, facials, manicures & pedicures and other beauty treatments. Nestled in a private garden setting, the spa is run by professional, qualified therapists who will ensure your complete comfort and satisfaction.
