Tapeka Point is just over the hill from Russell (nice invigorating walk) - and is blessed with the nicest beaches in the world. We are a minutes walk from either the gorgeous sandy Tapeka beach (safe, secure and shaded by massive Norfolk Pines - also has a swimming platform and boat ramp) or the Rocky Beach (great dusk rock fishing and fantastic snorkeling). Picnic on Roberton Island - 10 min away by boat. Go dolphin watching. Dive a wreck. Make sandcastles all day. Catch snapper, or marlin. Catch a feed of scallops, or a couple of crays for the BBQ. Hike up Tapeka mountain and admire the stunning views. Let the kids run down to the beach and make new friends. Take the family out to one of the fantastic restaurants of Russell- just 5 minutes away - or just order a pizza for movie night at the bach. Spend your days boating, fishing, tramping, diving and swimming in one of the most beautiful spots on earth - then come back to a bach with all the conveniences - BBQ, Freeview, Xbox for the kids, kayak, fishing gear, etc. It doesn't get much better than this.
