The Bay of Islands offers some of the best sea kayaking in New Zealand - Bay Beach Hire specialises in sea kayak tours and rentals. We provide modern single and double sea kayaks and safety equipment, selected for comfort, stability, sea worthiness and performance.
We've also got sit-on-top kayaks, which can be used by anyone, regardless of age or experience.
If you want to explore the islands for two or more days we'll supply all safety equipment and secure parking (from $50.00/day).
Kayaking Tours
No previous kayaking experience is required. Our skilled guides will demonstrate paddling techniques and equipment at your own pace.
They'll then lead you on a custom tour to explore islands, mangroves, rock gardens and historical sites, whilst providing information on the native wildlife and history of the Bay of Islands.
A tea stop along the way gives you a chance to use the snorkelling and fishing gear we supply free of charge.
We also cater for group bookings, corporate, schools, seniors, etc.
Please bring:
Drinking water
Swimsuit
Towel (even if you don't plan on swimming)
Sun protection
Suitable footwear
Lunch / Snack
Change of Clothes (dry bags are provided)

Weather: We can't guarantee good weather, so sometimes we need to postpone trips for your safety. A full refund is given if you are unable to reschedule your trip.
