Carino
Sail amongst the Islands on our 50ft spacious catamaran the sailing yacht Carino - purpose built for day sailing in the Bay of Islands.
Help set and trim the sails, relax on our spacious decks, watch for penguins, petrels and other ocean birds, swim with wild dolphins.
We are the only yacht licensed by Department of Conservation to swim and play with dolphins.
Watching and swimming with dolphins in their natural habitat is amazing and wonderful experience.
Our experienced crew will help you understand and appreciated the magic of wild dolphins.
We are conscious of the need to protect the dolphins and respect their habitat. Interaction with the dolphins (especially swimming) is at the dolphins' invitation.
The bay of Islands is a unique location for bottlenose dolphins, as it provides them with abundant food and security for resting and breeding.
Your skipper will find a suitable calm cove to enjoy. There is a wide range of activities available at our island stopover - snorkelling tours (all equipment is provided), nature walks on Department of Conservation tracks (accessible on all islands that we stop on) with spectacular views.
For the energetic, beach games - volleyball, frisbee, bolus.
Relax on the beach in the sun, or maybe a spot of beachcombing for that unique shell souvenir.
The BBQ lunch is held back aboard Carino. It is a kiwi style BBQ. Vegetarians are also catered for on request. Carino has a fully licensed bar, with a range of New Zealand beers, wines and cool drinks.
Throughout the day the tour will circumnavigate the Bay of Islands. Spectacular scenery and fantastic sea life are all within reach in the Bay of Islands Maritime Park.
Lady Skipper, Vanessa Mckay is a YNZ Instructor with over 35,000 ocean miles of sailing experience.
Local family business with an involvement in Team New Zealand (America's Cup).
