Lying in the Northland sun, amongst the citrus, is Marsden Estate, Kerikeri's award winning winery.
Original cuisine, complimented by estate grown wines, can be enjoyed in a relaxed courtyard atmosphere overlooking the lake and vines. Wine sales, tastings and tours are also available.
The estate is named after Samuel Marsden, who introduced the grapevine to New Zealand with 100 plantings at Kerikeri in 1819. The plantings at Marsden are a little more recent, but both the wine and estate building have a timeless quality.

Kerikeri was one of the worst hit towns and at Marsden Estate, near the Kerikeri airport, they had 420 mls in 30 hours. It's been described as a one in 150 year event, said Rod McIvor, ownerwinemaker, when I spoke to him by phone....
