Martha Elena Meyer was born in Colombia, South America. First studies were at Florida School of the Arts, Florida International University, then working under Marlena Novak and Elsie Krameridge.
Martha travels widely with her family (now a mother of six), painting and teaching as she goes. Her work travels just as widely, currently found in Cape Horn, Portugal, Robinson Crusoe Island, Tahiti, North America, South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the tropical islands of Polynesia to give just a few examples.
Like her Latin American spirit, Martha Elena Meyer has an strong affinity for beauty and visual expression, partly from her distant travels, partly from her desire to share her dreams and experiences into her works of art - in doing so she takes us to a dimension somewhere between reality and fantasy.
Her knowledge of the sea lets us enjoy a true experience of interaction between people, and boats in action. Her figures and images of people from other areas invite us to be part of their world.
Her murals reflect vibrant colours and subjects that are part of their world.
